Day 1
Setting the Scene!
What is Hatha Yoga?
How I can be befitted from it?
“One who enjoys being Brahmacharya and always takes moderate diet and practices arousal of kundalini, achieves perfection in forty days.”
Verse 121, Chapter 3, Hatha Yoga Pradipika
Hatha Yoga is a meditation tradition that affirms that a leaner need to start from the gross in order to reach to the subtle.
Hatha Yoga focuses on the purification of body, senses, prana (vital force), nadis (meridians) that eventually awakens the Sushman, the highest Nadi.
For an average person, the prana flows either in the ida or pingala nadi. If it is flowing in the ida then the person feels sleepy during the meditation and if it is flowing in the pingala then the person is too restless for meditation.
If the prana starts flowing through the Sushmana Nadi, the mind turns meditative and meditation becomes effortless.
The goal of this course is to ensure the opening up of Sushmana so that mind turns meditative effortlessly.
