Dhamma Yoga had the honours to be apart of the International Yoga Day event hosted by The Consulate General of India 

Aranyaka: Yoga Retreat 2022

A Dhamma Yoga 2 Nights Yoga Retreat in the beautiful Leura.

Some of the highlights of our Retreat are:

Breathing practices, Blue Mountain nature walk, yoga practices, chakra Meditation, tea ceremony, Qi Gong, fire meditation, sound bowl meditation and Didgeridoo meditation. Along with talks about 11min daily practice and weight loss. 

Delicious, fresh and nourishing vegetarian sattvic food and spontaneous music performance from the Dhamma Yoga family/ volunteers were one of the highlights of this retreat.

Dhamma Yoga 11 Year Anniversary - 04.09.2022

 

On 04 September 2022 Dhamma Yoga (DY)  celebrated its 11th anniversary. We celebrated this auspicious occasion by hosting an event at the Woodcroft Neighbourhood Centre. The event started with lighting of the lamp, spiritual music, mindful meditation by a buddhist monk, adults and kids yoga performance, music, and a 11 minute daily yoga routine. 

The event brought together the local community, our current and previous yoga members.

International Yoga Day 2022

 

It was an immense pleasure to celebrate the 7th International Yoga Day, with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the Consulate General of India at the picturesque venue of Sydney Town Hall. The entire show was a perfect display of the kind of physical and spiritual prowess Yoga has brought to the world stage. Dhamma Yoga members won many awards for their talent and contribution to Yoga here in Australia. Dhamma Yoga crew presented a thrilling performance before the crowded hall to mark the celebration of Yoga day. CGI Sydney celebrated this Yoga day with the theme "Yoga for Humanity" as part of the Indian Government's initiative of 75th Amrit Mahotshava.

DY social retreat at Jamberoo was to provide a community healing touch to your isolated, distracted, stressed, and disempowered body and mind so that calmness, effortlessness and the untapped creative sources of energy within you starts governing your life!

When we connect ourselves to the purifying waterfall, it cleanses our soul of all the mud and dust, and takes us beyond all sufferings and guides us to meditate into our timeless relationship to the universal consciousness that is the source of all life and everything that is 🙏

Thanking you for being part of our journey. Whatever we did, we did it together and we hope to create the structure of peace in many more minds in the years ahead.

Dhamma Yoga celebrate international Yoga day every year with all its community members. We celebrated International Yoga Day 2021 with the Consulate General of India and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in their premise to promote the benefits of yoga to a wider audience in Sydney.

Outdoor Diwali Celebration 2020

Dhamma Yoga celebrated the Diwali event in the year 2020 at the picturesque site of Crossland Reserve.

It was a fun loaded day started with an early morning yoga practice, followed by BBQ, Diwali celebration and distribution of gifts along with many other group activities. We finish this with an energising bush walk deep into the reserve area!

Dhamma Yoga Retreat 2020

 

DY retreats are like a pilgrimage to one’s own deeper self in order to touch base with the existential being that is often ignored in the rat race of our modern society. They are conducted in a beautiful, natural surroundings where the healing energy of the outside nature can synchronised with the inner healing forces. The spiritual wisdom of yogic tradition rooted in tantra, kundalini, six healing/ cleansing techniques or shatkriyas of Hatha Yoga are shared and spread throughout these retreats. Sattvic (vegetarian) foods are served to promote the vital nourishing force or Ojas in the body. The goal of these retreats that are conducted often during the year is to heal and nourish the deeper self with sublime energy of the universe.

Retreat

  • Utsava at Parramatta 2015- Utsava was organised in the year 2015 as a one full day workshop at the Parramatta Town Hall to make people aware and guide them about the benefits of Yoga, Ayurveda and Meditation to heal themselves from various mental health ailments like depression, anxiety, and panic disorders. 

  • Bushfire fund raising charity event- Bushfire Fund raising was organised in December 2019 while the NSW was grappling with a massive bushfire and our firefighters were working day and night to rescue people, property, animal and their natural habitat. Dhamma Yoga conducted an outdoor yoga program inviting people across the Sydney to raise funds for NSW rural firefighters. All the raised funds were transferred to NSW Rural Fire Services.

  • Blacktown City games- Dhamma Yoga celebrates Blacktown city games every 6 monthly since 2014. This is an initiative by the Blacktown city council to promote health and well being among the people of Blacktown suburb.

  • Support Benyamin (Kid with leukaemia) charity event- Dhamma Yoga organised a charity event in 2019 to raise funds for the family of a young kid, Benyamin who was diagnosed with leukaemia at the age of three. This charity event was organised at Rouse Hill Regional Park where we offered yoga, meditation, breathing sessions along with entertainment games, food and refreshments to raise the funds. All the collections from the event was transferred to the Benyamin’s family with love and affection from our community members. 

  • Organ donation promotion campaign- Dhamma Yoga conducted an organ donation awareness campaign in collaboration with other organisations active in the field of organ donations, mainly Saffron Day and Donate Life in the year 2018 and 2019. 

  • Kids quarterly assessment day & Kids yearly graduation ceremony- Dhamma Yoga kids are constantly assessed in order to maintain the standards of our teaching and also to ensure that the knowledge is absorbed well by our young minds. DY organise a quarterly event where all the parents are invited and kids have to demonstrate their acquired skill in front of the gathering.

  • Monthly community days event- Dhamma Yoga organise monthly community day at various outdoor natural locations to strengthen the community bond among members of the Dhamma Yoga family as well as to invite more members to be part of our yoga tribe. The free food, drinks and refreshments are provided to the attendees along with yoga, meditation talks and various other activities.

  • GOPIO yearly event- Dhamma Yoga crew every year give a yoga presentation to help the GOIPIO to raise funds for the poorer section of our society. This charity event also provides our kids and adults a unique opportunity to showcase their talent and consolidate their learning over the years. 

  • Himalayan Trip- Dhamma Yoga organised  trips to the Himalaya for the spiritual seeker and yogis from all over the Australia to deepen their practice by visiting sacred places in Himalayas where yoga originated and prospered. DY aims to organise this spiritual pilgrimage at least once a year.
