NATRAJA : The Cosmic Dancer

This beautiful statue of Natraja from the southern part of India is a marvellous representation of the mystical tradition of India. It epitomises the Hindu idea of sacredness and wholeness in every single particle of the universe. God is not someone sitting in the heaven. It is deeply immersed in a dust particle, a blade of grass, a singing bee and a chirping bird to a floating fish. It is sitting deep inside every human despite all the thick outside layer of conditioning of upbringing. It is immersed and yet transcendental. It is life as well death. It is inside time as well outside the time. I pay my highest respect to the marvellous Shiva
